Introduction

JANE is engaged in the following activities for the purpose of developing nursing education and research and thereby contributing to the improved quality of professional activities of nursing practitioners.

1) Holding of general meetings
2) Holding of academic meetings
3) Issuance of journals, etc.
4) Research and information exchange on nursing education
5) Research subsidy program
6) Partnership with nursing education organizations in Japan and overseas
7) Other projects required to achieve the purpose of the academy

Membership requirements

The membership requirements are specified as follows under Chapter 2 of the JANE Articles of Association:

Academy members shall fall under any of the following items:
1. Engage in nursing education research and satisfy the conditions of research achievements specified by the board of directors
2. Have more than 3 years of experiences in nursing practice or education
Research achievements shall meet any of the following conditions:
1. Master’s degree or higher-level theses
2. Research presented at a national-level nursing conference or relevant academy (incl. joint research)
3. Research theses published in a national-level nursing journal or academic journal (incl. joint research)
4. Research theses published in a nursing university or college bulletin (incl. joint research)
5. Other research achievements or education or practical activities that can be deemed equivalent to those in 1 to 4 above

Initial fee and membership fee

1) Initial fee　　JPY 3,000
2) Membership fee: Regular member　　JPY 7,000/year
　 Supporting member　　JPY 50,000/year

Membership fee payment schedule
As the operation of JANE is supported by the membership fee, your cooperation is very much appreciated.
Please note that if the membership fee is left unpaid for 2 consecutive years, the membership will be terminated.
3) If you lose a payment slip for the annual membership fee, you can remit the fee to the following account.

Please write the following items in the message section of the slip

If a membership fee is left unpaid for an earlier year, the fee for such year shall be paid first.

If you are ready to apply in the former method, please fill out the application form and send it to the secretariat.

Membership requires a recommendation from a current councillor.
Make sure to confirm the five-digit membership number of your recommender first and enter the number in the designated section in the application form.
* Active councillors are listed here. Even when you do not know any of them, make sure to contact your area councillors by yourself. (The secretariat does not refer you to active councillors or act as an agent.)
